:
I qualified as a Health Psychologist in 1995 with a masters degree from the University of Surrey, Guildford. Working at Gloucester Royal Hospital in the Pain Management department I was the first Health Psychologist in the UK to work in a Clinical setting. During my five years at Gloucester Royal I worked along side Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Consultants running Pain Management Programmes for patients with chronic pain.

I decided to train as a Pilates instructor because I had had first hand experience of how motherhood and lack of exercise can impact on your muscle balance and how Pilates can help to get the muscles closer to how they worked when we were children, with great posture and no back pain! Having worked in the field of pain management I was also interested in helping people on a more physical level with back pain. In February 2010 I completed the Body Control Pilates Back 4 Good course and am a Level 4 practitioner for Low back pain on the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Having completed my training with the leading pilates provider, Body Control Pilates, I have been running Cotswold Pilates on my own for nine years, and I have found it very rewarding. Its now 2014 and it is very exciting that my sister Michele and I are now Partners in Cotswold Pilates. We are lucky to have wonderful Clients, many of whom have been with us from the start and keep coming back.

This year I have also become a Supervising Teacher for new Body Control Pilates Instructors covering Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. I am a registered member of the Body Control Pilates Association and the Register of Exercise Professionals. I carry appropriate insurance and have current first aid qualifications.
